The CAAPS initiative is a plan to establish several cross-border agro-industrial parks within the different regional economic communities in Africa. This concept was formulated in 2019 and is one of the main initiatives of the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) in support of the African Union Agenda 2063. The purpose of CAAPS is to provide over 8 million job opportunities within the crop and livestock value chains, as well as to respond to Africa's food gap by connecting all agro-park initiatives. CAAPS has already received seed capital from Afreximbank and is scheduled to have an investors' forum in 2023.
